SILVER DRAGONFLY
acrylic, gold and silver leaf, on canvas
19.7x59.1"/50x150cm
2014
In my opinion, dragonflies are a beautiful paradox: they are light, transparent, and tender and yet, it is a predator with a temper of steel. I wanted to show the transparency and the trembling of the wings. The broad 1.5 meters horizontal format emphasizes the wing-span and flight. The dragonfly stopped for a second and is ready to shoot upwards to the sky. I would say that this is my self-portrait.
